We replace the pump in case of noise from its bearing or in case of tight rotation of the pump pulley, large radial play of the pump shaft
We also replace the pump when a coolant leak occurs from the control hole.
Tools will be required: socket heads 10, 12, 16, 18, Torx E14, wrench 13, flat-blade screwdriver, key retainer for setting TDC, camshaft retainer, sealant, container for drained fluid.
We install the car on a lift or a viewing ditch.
On K4M engine
Drain the coolant (see the article - Checking and replacing the Nissan Almera engine coolant)
Remove the accessory drive belt (article - Replacing the accessory drive belt Nissan Almera)
Remove the timing belt (article - How to replace the timing belt Nissan Almera)
Remove the timing belt tensioner
With a head for 8 we unscrew seven bolts 1 and with a head for 10 one bolt 2 fastening the pump to the cylinder block
Prying off the protrusion on the pump housing with a flat screwdriver, we squeeze the pump from the cylinder block
Remove the coolant pump
Remove the gasket.
Install the coolant pump in reverse order.
Replacing the gasket.
We tighten the pump bolts in the sequence shown in Figure 7.
We tighten the M6 bolts with a torque of 10 Nm, we tighten the M8 bolts with a torque of 22 Nm.
Removing the expansion tank
Remove the expansion tank for flushing or replacement.
We pump out the coolant from the tank using a pear or a syringe.
We substitute a wide container for collecting liquid under the car, in the area of \u200b\u200bthe tank.
Pliers compress the ends of the clamp for fastening the steam outlet hose
Remove the hose from the top fitting of the tank
Squeeze the ends of the homa with sliding pliers and attachment of the inlet hose
Remove the hose from the bottom fitting of the tank. We plug the hole in the hose with a cork of a suitable size.
With a 10 head with an extension, unscrew the two nuts securing the tank
Remove the tank from the studs of the body bracket.
Install the expansion tank in reverse order.
Add coolant to the cooling system.
