Removing the Renault Megane II exterior mirror

We prepare the vehicle for the work. We prepare a TORX T20 key and a screwdriver.

We disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Disconnecting the negative battery terminal — Disconnect the negative battery terminal

Removing the corner trim — Remove the corner trim, pressing the retainers

Unscrewing the exterior mirror securing screw — Unscrew the exterior mirror securing screw

Sliding the lever rearwards — Slide the lever rearwards (in the direction of the arrow)

Lever slid to the extreme position — Move the lever aside

Prising up the retainer with a screwdriver — Prise up the bracket securing retainer with a screwdriver

Removing the securing bracket from the control lever — Remove the securing bracket from the exterior rear-view mirror control lever

Pulling the control cables through the opening — Pull the exterior rear-view mirror control cables through the opening in the door frame

Remove the mirror seal.

Exterior mirror seal removed — Remove the mirror seal

Refitting: refit the removed parts in the reverse order.
