General information about the fuel filter

The fine fuel filter is of non-detachable design, with a steel body and a paper filter element. On the filter body an arrow is applied which must coincide with the direction of fuel flow.

Replacement interval: the fuel filter must be replaced every 15 000 km of mileage. This figure depends on the operating conditions and the quality of the petrol filled.

The fine fuel filter is located under the floor on the left-hand side, closer to the rear wheels.

Precautions: the fuel in the engine fuel system is under pressure. Therefore, before servicing the fuel system it is necessary to relieve the fuel pressure.

Replacing the fuel filter

Removing the fuel pipe end fitting from the filter
Having pressed the two retainers of the fuel pipe end fitting, we remove the end fitting from the filter stub

In the same way we remove the fuel pipe end fitting from the other filter stub.

Refitting:

  • We refit the filter in the reverse sequence.
  • Important! When refitting we pay attention to the position of the fuel flow arrow — it must coincide with the direction of fuel flow.

After replacement: after fitting the new filter, start the engine and check the tightness of the connections. If there is any fuel leakage, tighten the connections or check that the pipe end fittings are correctly secured.
