Remove the rear shock absorber to replace the rear suspension parts and the shock absorber itself

Prepare the car and install it on a lift or inspection pit

Rear suspension parts: 1 - rear shock absorber assembly; 2 - upper rear arm; 3 - lower rear arm; 4 - rear cross member; 5 - rear stabilizer assembly; 6 - rear stabilizer strut assembly; 7 - rear auxiliary lever

Loosen the rear wheel mounting nuts on the side of the work being performed.

Replacing the rear shock absorber: 1 - nut; 2 - bracket; 3 - boot; 4 - travel limiter; 5 - shock absorber; 6 - upper support; 7 - spring; 8 - lower support; 9 - rear lower arm

Raise the rear of the car and remove the wheel

Replacing the shock absorber of the rear suspension of the car

Unscrew the mounting nuts (A) of the shock absorber assembly from the housing

Replacing the shock absorber of the rear suspension of the car

Unscrew the mounting nut (B) of the shock absorber assembly from the steering knuckle, then remove the shock absorber assembly (A)

Checking the technical condition

Check the technical condition of the rubber parts of the shock absorber. If defects or damage are detected, we replace the parts.

Replacing the shock absorber of the rear suspension of the car

Move the shock absorber rod up and down several times and make sure that there are no extraneous sounds during movement.

If defects are detected, replace the shock absorber assembly

Installing the shock absorber

Replacing the rear shock absorber of the car

Tighten the bolt (A) of the shock absorber to the body. Tightening torque 44.1-53.9 Nm

Replacing the rear shock absorber of the car

Tighten the nut (B) of the shock absorber to the steering knuckle. Tightening torque 137.3-156.9 Nm

Install the wheel on the hub. Tightening torque 88.3-107.9 Nm
