We remove the shock absorber strut of the front suspension to replace the elements of the strut or for repair
We install the car on a lift or hang the front of the car on a jack and substitute reliable stops
Remove the front wheel from the side of the work being done
Open the hood and set it on stop
We unscrew the two plastic nuts securing the protective cover of the shock strut support
And remove the lid
If we remove the shock strut for repair, loosen the upper support fastening nut, holding the rod from turning with a wrench
We unscrew the bolt that secures the brake hose bracket to the shock strut bracket and move the hose along with the bracket to the side
Disconnect the upper hinge of the stabilizer strut from the shock strut support
Unscrew and remove the bolt securing the support to the shock strut
We unscrew the nut and remove the bolt connecting the shock strut support and the lower arm of the front suspension
Remove the shock absorber support
We unscrew the three nuts securing the upper support of the shock strut and remove the shock absorber strut
Install parts in reverse order
Install the shock strut support according to the mark on the shock strut
Be sure to make sure that the mark is in a recessed position in the groove of the shock strut support
The left and right shock strut mounts are marked "L" and "R" respectively. They are not interchangeable
After replacing the front suspension strut or its parts, check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment
