We replace the front suspension arm if the silent blocks or ball joint are worn, or if the arm itself is deformed.
You will need: 13mm, 18mm, and TORXT30 wrenches.
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts, raise the front of the car, and support it on jack stands. Remove the wheel.


Unscrew the lower nut and the upper tie rod mounting bolt and remove it.


Loosen the stabilizer bar mounting bolt nut, holding the bolt from turning, and remove the bolt.

Remove the tie rod nut from the steering knuckle-to-ball joint clamp connection.

Remove the tie rod bolt.

Use a screwdriver to slightly loosen the clamp.

Remove the ball joint pin from the steering knuckle.

Loosen the nut securing the front control arm bushing to the subframe, holding it in place, and remove the bolt.
Remove the rear control arm bushing to the subframe in the same manner.

Remove the front suspension arm.
Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the bolts and nuts to the following torques:
- nuts securing the arm silent blocks to the subframe - 105 N⋅m (10.5 kgf⋅m),
- tie rod mounting bolt - 21 N⋅m (2.1 kgf⋅m),
- tie rod mounting nut and nut of the clamp connection of the steering knuckle to the ball joint - 62 N⋅m (6.2 kgf⋅m).
After replacing the front suspension arm, check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment angles in a specialized workshop.
Replacing the suspension ball joint
If the check confirms The ball joint is broken, replace it.
You will need: two 16 mm wrenches and a flat-blade screwdriver.
Raise and support the front of the car on supports.
Remove the wheel.
Apply the parking brake and place wheel chocks under the rear wheels.
Loosen and tighten the wheel bolts only with the car on the ground.

Remove the front suspension arm (See above "Replacing the Renault Logan suspension arm").

Pry up the spring of the boot with a screwdriver and remove Retaining ring of the ball joint protective boot.

Remove the protective boot.

Install a mandrel of the appropriate size under the arm where the support is installed (the inner diameter of the mandrel should be slightly larger than the diameter of the housing) ball joint) and press the ball joint out of the control arm.

Press in the new joint.
Apply grease (such as lithol or similar) to the ball joint.
Reinstall the parts in the reverse order of removal.
