To replace the front brake pads, you'll need the following tools:

  • - wheel wrench;
  • - 7mm Allen key;
  • - slotted screwdriver;
  • - tire iron;

Place the vehicle in an inspection pit or on a lift. Unlock the wheels.

Unscrew the bolts and remove the wheel.

Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the protective cap on the upper caliper mounting bolt.

Also remove the lower plastic cap.

Using a 7 mm Allen key, unscrew the upper caliper guide mounting bolt.

Using the same key, unscrew the lower bolt.

Pry up the wire spring with a screwdriver and remove it.

Insert a flat-head screwdriver between the brake disc and the pad and press the caliper piston out.

Next, use a thin tire iron to fully compress the piston.

Remove the clamp and take out the brake pads.

We tie up or simply place the caliper on top of the steering knuckle.

We inspect the removed parts parts and clean them.

Install the new brake shoes.

If there is an arrow on the new inner shoes, install them with the arrow facing down.

Reassemble in reverse order.

Tighten the guide mounting bolts to 30 Nm.

Tighten the wheel bolts to 105 Nm.

After assembly, press the brake pedal several times to allow the shoes to self-settle.

After installing the shoes, take a test drive with several braking applications.
