Usually, the fan is removed to replace the electric motor, impeller or when removing the radiator
We install the car on a lift or a viewing ditch
Disconnect the negative battery terminal
We remove the protection of the power unit (see the article - Removing the protection of the Nissan Almera power unit)
Removing the fuel rail protection
Remove the air intake
Using a Torx T-30 wrench, unscrew the two screws securing the power steering reservoir bracket
We take the tank with the bracket away from the fan casing
Unclench the plastic holder on the fan casing, remove the power steering reservoir hose from it
Remove the radiator inlet hose from the fan shroud holder
Pressing the lock of the wiring harness block, disconnect the block from the connector of the additional fan resistor
Also disconnect the wiring harness block from the fan motor connector
With a 7 head, unscrew the top fastening screw
Unscrew the screw of the right upper mount
Unscrew the screw of the lower right mount
Unscrew the screw of the left lower casing mount
In order not to damage the radiator when removing the fan shroud, insert a sheet of cardboard measuring 500x570 mm between the radiator and the shroud
Remove the fan assembly with the shroud down from the engine compartment
Using a Torx T-20 wrench, unscrew the three screws securing the fan impeller to the electric motor
Remove the impeller
Using a Torx T-25 wrench, unscrew the three screws securing the motor to the fan casing
Removing the electric motor
The optional fan resistor can be replaced without removing the fan shroud.
Using a screwdriver, we press the clamp of the additional resistor
Remove the resistor from the fan shroud
We assemble and install the radiator fan in the reverse order.
