The immobilizer coil is mounted on a section of pipe (welded to the steering column tube) that houses the ignition switch.
Remove the coil for replacement and when removing the ignition switch. Remove the ignition switch for replacement if it fails or to replace the contact assembly.
Prepare the vehicle for work. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Remove the steering column covers.

Press the two plastic clips and remove the immobilizer coil.

Press the locking tab on the wiring connector to disconnect it from the immobilizer coil.
Remove the instrument cluster.

Press the locking tab on the ignition switch wiring connector.

Removing the pads from the holder

Using a flat-head screwdriver to pry the wiring harness connector retainer, slide the retainer

Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the ignition switch connector.

Using a Torx T-20 wrench, unscrew the ignition switch mounting screw.

With the ignition key positioned between the "A" and "M" marks (located on the end of the switch), use tweezers to press in the two switch latches.

Remove it from the steering column socket (shown with the steering column removed).
Reinstall the ignition switch and immobilizer coil in the reverse order.
