Removing the door trim

To remove the front door trim, the following tools are required: TORX T20 and T40 keys, a set of screwdrivers.

We prepare the vehicle for the work. We disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Preparing the vehicle: disconnecting the battery terminal — Disconnect the negative battery terminal

Prising off the exterior mirror cover with a screwdriver — Prise off the exterior mirror cover

Exterior mirror cover removed — Remove it, overcoming the resistance of the retainers

Prising off the decorative cover of the interior handle securing screw — Prise off with a screwdriver and move aside the decorative cover of the securing screw of the interior door lock release handle

Unscrewing the interior handle securing screw — Unscrew the interior handle securing screw

Prising off the interior handle with a screwdriver — Prise off the interior handle with a screwdriver

Moving the interior handle aside — Move the interior handle aside

Pressing the retainers of the cable end fitting holder — Press the retainers and disconnect the cable end fitting holder of the lock release

Door lock release handle removed — Remove the door lock release handle

Prising off the armrest handle trim from both sides — Prise off the armrest handle trim from both sides with a screwdriver

Armrest handle trim removed — Remove the armrest handle trim

Unscrewing two screws securing the trim panel in the armrest handle — Unscrew two screws securing the door trim panel in the armrest handle

Unscrewing two lower trim securing screws — Unscrew two trim securing screws from below

Unscrewing the rear trim securing screw — Unscrew one screw at the rear

Prising off the window regulator control unit — Prise off the window regulator control unit with a screwdriver

Window regulator control unit moved aside by the length of the wires — Move the window regulator control unit aside by the length of the wires

Pressing the retainer of the wiring harness connector — Press the retainer of the wiring harness connector

Disconnecting the wire connector from the control unit — Disconnect the connector and finally remove the window regulator control unit

Tilting the door trim panel — Tilt the door trim panel

Unscrewing the screw under the trim panel — Under the door trim panel, unscrew the screw securing the trim to the inner door panel

Removing the lock release cable from its holder — Remove the front door lock release cable from the holder

Disconnecting the lock electric locking drive connector — Press the retainer and disconnect the connector of the lock electric locking drive

Prising off the speaker grille with a screwdriver — Prise off the speaker grille with a screwdriver

Speaker grille removed — Remove the speaker grille

Location of the speaker grille securing retainers — The grille securing retainers are shown in the figure

Unscrewing two speaker securing screws — Unscrew two speaker securing screws

Pressing the speaker connector retainer — Press the speaker connector retainer

Disconnecting the wire connector from the speaker — Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the speaker

Unscrewing three screws under the speaker grille — Unscrew the three door trim securing screws located under the speaker grille

Disengaging the window regulator mechanism lugs — Disengage the window regulator mechanism lugs from the door trim

Lifting the trim upwards, remove it from the door panel.

Refitting: refit the front door trim and all removed parts in the reverse order.

Replacing the front door glass

Tools: screwdrivers and TORX T20 key.

Lower the glass to the bottom position.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Remove the front door trim as described above.

Temporarily connect the battery, connect the window regulator control unit. Press the window regulator control switch to the position in which the glass-to-slider securing retainers are in a position convenient for access to them.

Removing the inner glass seal — Remove the inner glass seal

Removing the outer glass seal — Remove the outer glass seal

Pressing the left glass securing retainer — Press the left glass-to-slider securing retainer

Pressing the right glass securing retainer — Press the right glass-to-slider securing retainer

Remove the glass from the door, lifting its rear corner upwards.

Refitting: refit the front door glass and all parts in the reverse order.

Replacing the front door lock

Tools: TORX T20 key, set of screwdrivers.

Tilting the front door trim panel — Tilt the front door trim panel upwards

Pressing the shield retainer — Press the shield retainer

Remove the exterior handle (described below).

Unscrewing three lock securing screws — Unscrew three screws securing the lock to the door frame

Pushing the exterior handle bracket into the door cavity — Press the retainer of the exterior handle securing bracket to the door and push the bracket into the door cavity with a screwdriver

Remove the door lock together with the exterior handle base, withdrawing it through the service opening in the door panel. Withdraw the cable end fitting from the slot in the exterior handle base and disconnect the door lock release cable.

Refitting: refit the door lock and all parts in the reverse order.

Replacing the exterior handle and the front door lock switch

Tools: TORX T20 key, set of screwdrivers, wire hook.

Pressing the retainer — Press the retainer

Removing the decorative cover of the lock switch — Remove the decorative cover of the front door lock switch

Removing the plug of the opening in the rear part of the door — Prise off with a screwdriver and remove the plug of the opening in the rear part of the front door

Inserting the hook into the opening — Insert the hook made of wire into the opening

Unlocking the stop plate of the switch — Guide the hook behind the stop plate of the switch and unlock the stop plate by pulling it towards you (shown on the removed lock)

Lock switch removed — Remove the front door lock switch

Sliding the exterior handle rearwards — Slide the exterior handle rearwards in the direction of the arrow

Exterior handle removed — Remove the handle from the vehicle

Removing the exterior handle seal — Remove the exterior handle seal

Refitting: refit all parts in the reverse order.
