Some vehicle trim levels are equipped with headlight range control height sensors

We carry out the work on a lift or on an inspection ditch.

Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery

Removing the front headlight range control sensor

Disconnect the connector.

Remove the stopper and unscrew the bolt securing the front body height sensor (Fig. 1).

Installation

Install the sensor with bracket on the vehicle.

Tighten the front height sensor mounting bolt to 8 Nm.

Be sure to replace the stopper after each removal.

The front height sensor has different electronic characteristics from the rear height sensor, so it is very important not to confuse them.

The front height sensor has a yellow mark.

Calibrate the ECU.

Adjust the headlights.

Removing and installing the rear headlight range control height sensor

Removal:

Disconnect the connector.

Remove the stopper (Fig. 2).

Unscrew the bolt securing the rear height sensor (Fig. 3).

Installation

Install the sensor with bracket on the vehicle.

Tighten the front height sensor mounting bolt to 8 Nm.

Be sure to replace the stopper after each removal.

The front height sensor has different electronic characteristics from the rear height sensor, so it is very important not to confuse them.

The rear height sensor has a green mark.

Calibrate the ECU.

Adjust the headlights.
