Removal

Disconnect the battery cables, starting with the negative terminal.

Remove the relay connector to access the electric cabin fan control unit.

Remove the front left air intake duct.

Disconnect the accelerator pedal position sensor connector (Fig. 1).

Remove the brake light switch by turning it a quarter turn (Fig. 2).

Disconnect the interior fan control unit connector (Fig. 3)

Inspect the connector for burnt contacts.

Remove the two bolts securing the interior fan control unit.

Press the latch and remove the wiring harness from the electric fan

This is what the heater fan control unit looks like in a car without climate control (Fig. 8).

If the car is equipped with climate control, the control unit is the same type as in Fig. 9.

To remove this unit, you will need to disconnect the connector from the clip, which interferes with the access of the unit mounting bolts.

Unscrew the two bolts using a TORX 20 head.

Remove the unit.

To disconnect the wiring harness connectors, press the central locking tab with a flat-head screwdriver and pull out the two connectors.

RS. There was a case where the heater's electric fan failed in a car with climate control.

After removing the heater's ECU unit, separating the two halves of the ECU housing, we cleaned the accumulated dust on the electrical part of the board with a brush.

After that, we reinstalled the unit.

The electric fan started working like new.

Reinstallation is performed in reverse order.
