We typically remove the flywheel for replacement if the toothed rim is damaged, when replacing the rear crankshaft oil seal, or during engine repairs.
To remove the flywheel, you will need 11mm and 13mm wrenches, a 17mm socket, and a flat-blade screwdriver.

Unscrew the seven flywheel mounting bolts, holding the flywheel with a screwdriver to prevent it from turning.

Remove the retaining ring.

Replacing or repairing the flywheel if there is wear on the mating surfaces of the clutch driven disc or The shaft flange has developed nicks and scuffs.

Check the flywheel runout on a machine.
The runout on the toothed rim should not exceed 0.5 mm.
If nicks appear on the mating surface of the driven disk, they can be ground, but the layer of metal removed should not exceed 0.3 mm.

Install the flywheel according to the marks on the retaining ring and flywheel.
Tighten the bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern to the specified torque:
- – flywheel mounting bolts (K4m, K4J engines) (65 Nm);
- – flywheel mounting bolts (F4R engine) (70 Nm).
