Place the vehicle on a two-post lift
Disconnect the battery.
Remove:
- – Windscreen wiper arms;
- – Air intake grille;
Replacing the brake master cylinder reservoir
Remove the cap from the filler neck of the brake master cylinder reservoir Brake cylinder
Removing the air supply hose
Pumping out the brake fluid from the reservoir
Cutting off the clamp on the clutch master cylinder hose
Remove the hose from the master cylinder reservoir nipple.
Press the wire connector retainer.
For clarity, the following steps are shown with the master cylinder removed.
Disconnect the connector from the brake fluid level sensor.
Removing the pin securing the reservoir to the brake master cylinder
Removing the pin
Removing the reservoir, removing its hoses from the connecting bushings
If fluid was leaking from under the reservoir, use a screwdriver to pry up the connecting bushings...
Remove the bushings from the cylinder body holes
Install the reservoir by inserting its pipes into the connecting tubes, first moistening the bushings with brake fluid.
Insert the pin Fastening the reservoir to the brake master cylinder.
Connect the wiring harness to the level sensor.
Connect the clutch master cylinder hose.
Filling the brake fluid.
After installing the reservoir, check the brakes.
Replacing the brake master cylinder
Removing the cap from the brake cylinder reservoir.
Removing Air supply hose
Pumping out brake fluid from the reservoir
Disconnecting the clutch release hose
Disconnecting the wiring harness from the level sensor
Removing the secondary circuit line fastening nut
Move the line to the side
Also unscrew and move the primary circuit line to the side
Pry up the noise insulation retainer and pull the noise insulation down.
Remove the nuts securing the master cylinder to the brake booster.
Removing the brake master cylinder.
Pry off the O-ring with a screwdriver.
Replacing the ring
If the master cylinder is being replaced, transfer the brake fluid reservoir to the new cylinder.
Install the brake cylinder in the reverse order.
Fill with brake fluid and bleed the brake system.
Correctly snap the reservoir onto master cylinder.
Install the reservoir tank mounting bolt to the master cylinder.
Tighten the reservoir tank mounting bolt to the master cylinder to the specified torque of 8.5 N m.
Align the master cylinder with the brake booster so that the booster plunger fits into the socket in the master cylinder housing.
When installing the master cylinder, center the seal in the brake booster.
Tighten the master cylinder mounting nuts to the brake booster.
Tighten the master cylinder mounting nuts to the brake booster to the specified torque of 50 N m.
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the nuts securing the lines to the master cylinder to the specified torque of 17 N m. cylinder.
Bleed the brake system.
Connect the battery.
