We prepare the car to perform the work. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
If you are doing the work without a lift, apply the parking brake.

Install chocks under the rear wheels of the car.

Loosen the tightening Steering knuckle hub nuts and wheel mounting bolts
Raise the front of the car and remove the corresponding front wheel.

Press out the tie rod end hinge pin from the steering knuckle hole

Press the locking clip on the wheel speed sensor wiring connector.

Disconnect the connector from the sensor.

Removing the sensor wire holder from the front suspension arm

Removing the wire holder from the steering knuckle bracket

Pressing the front suspension arm ball joint pin out of the steering knuckle hole.
Removing the front wheel hub nut.

Removing the brake disc – "Replacing the brake disc on a Renault Megane 2"

Removing the drive shaft from the steering knuckle hub hole – "Replacing the drive shaft (K4J, K4M engines)"

We knock out the outer joint tailpiece with a hammer through a wooden spacer from the steering knuckle – "Replacing the Front Shock Strut on a Renault Megane 2"

Unscrew and remove the bolt from the steering knuckle hole.

Use a hammer to press the steering knuckle out of the shock strut.
Installation
Installation is the reverse of removal.
Tighten to the required torque. torque:
- – bolts securing the shock absorber strut to the steering knuckle (105 Nm);
- – bolt Suspension arm ball joint mounts (62 Nm);
- – Tie rod end ball joint pin nut (37 Nm);
- – Brake disc mounting screws (140 Nm);
- – Hub nut (280 Nm);
- – Brake shoe guide bolts (105 Nm);
- – Wheel bolts (110 Nm).
Depress the brake pedal several times to set the pistons to their operating position.
