We prepare the car for work and disconnect the negative battery terminal
Wait at least one minute for the airbag activator capacitor to discharge
Remove the driver's airbag
Press the signal wire block with a screwdriver
And disconnect the horn wires
Unscrew the nut securing the steering wheel to the steering shaft
We fix the steering wheel from turning using the locking mechanism of the anti-theft device of the ignition lock.
Just remove the key from the ignition
Mark the position of the steering wheel relative to the shaft with a marker
Installing the steering wheel puller and tightening the puller bolts
There are two threaded holes in the steering wheel hub for installing a puller
We screw in the central bolt of the puller and press the steering wheel off the steering shaft
Remove the steering wheel
Install the steering wheel in reverse order
Removing the steering column covers
Remove the steering wheel as described above
We unscrew the screws securing the steering column cover
We press the latches and disconnect the steering column covers
Remove the protective fabric from the top of the steering column cover
Remove the upper and lower parts of the steering column cover
Install the cover in reverse order
