How to remove and install the brake pedal of a Mazda 6 car

Remove the brake pedal to replace it if there is a squeak or jamming or increased play

We prepare the car for the task and disconnect the negative battery terminal

We press the lock of the brake light switch wire block and disconnect the block from the switch

Remove the spring retainer of the vacuum booster pusher fork pin with pliers

Remove the finger from the holes of the fork and pedal

We unscrew the four nuts securing the vacuum brake booster to the bulkhead

We unscrew the nut of the upper fastening of the brake pedal to the bulkhead

And remove the brake pedal assembly with the brake light switch

To remove the brake light switch, turn it 45º clockwise

Remove the switch from the pedal bracket

Install the brake pedal in reverse order

If necessary, check and adjust the position of the brake pedal
