We remove the subframe to dismantle the gearbox and other components of the powertrain and front suspension.
It is more convenient to remove and install the subframe on a lift.
You will need: 10mm, 13mm, 16mm, 18mm wrenches, a TORX T30 socket head, an 18mm socket head, and a flat-blade screwdriver.
Remove the mudguards and engine underbody protection.
Remove the exhaust pipe.

Remove the catalytic converter bracket from the cushion.
If the cushion is stuck to the bracket, pry it out with a screwdriver.

Remove the three bolts securing the front bumper to the subframe.

Remove the two bolts securing the rear powertrain mount bracket and remove it.


Remove the two bolts securing the steering gear to the subframe.


Remove the upper tie rod mounting bolt and the lower mounting nut.

Remove the tie rod


Unscrew the power steering tube holder bolt and move the tube slightly to the side.

Unscrew the nut securing the clamping bolt between the steering knuckle and the ball joint.

Remove the tie bolt

Use a screwdriver to slightly loosen the clamp and remove the ball joint pin from the steering knuckle

In the same way, remove the ball joint pin from the steering knuckle on the other side of the car.

Install supports under the subframe.

Remove the front and rear mounting bolts, then remove the subframe assembly with the anti-roll bar and front suspension arms.

Remove the anti-roll bar (see "Replacing the anti-roll bar on the Renault Logan").

Remove the control arms (see "Replacing the Renault Logan suspension arm")
Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Tighten the front and rear subframe mounting bolts to a torque of 105 N⋅m (10.5 kgf⋅m), the tie rod mounting bolt to a torque of 21 N⋅m (2.1 kgf⋅m), the tie rod mounting nut and the tie bolt nut of the steering knuckle-to-ball joint clamp connection to a torque of 62 N⋅m (6.2 kgf⋅m), and the rear support bracket mounting bolts to a torque of 65 N⋅m (6.5 kgf⋅m).
