We prepare the car to perform the work. Unlock the steering wheel.

Place the car on a lift or raise the front of the car, blocking the rear wheels.

Remove the corresponding front wheel.

Ask an assistant to press the brake pedal.

Unscrew the two brake disc mounting screws (Fig. 2)

Remove the two bolts securing the brake pad guide to the steering knuckle.

Remove the bracket assembly from the guide.

Hang the sliding bracket assembly with the brake pad guide using wire to the front suspension components.

Before installing the disc, clean the mating surfaces of the hub and disc.

If we are installing the same disc, use a lathe to remove any ridges on the disc surfaces that have formed due to wear.

Install the disc and all components.

Inspection

Check the inner cylinder walls for corrosion, wear, and damage.

Replace the cylinder body if necessary.

Minor defects caused by corrosion or foreign particles can be removed by sanding the surface with fine-grit sandpaper.

Check the piston surface and guide for corrosion, wear, and damage. The pin and its boot, as well as on the brake disc surface.

Replace the relevant component if necessary.

Installation

Clean the pad guides and brackets.

Installation is the reverse of removal.

Tighten to the specified torque:

  • – Brake disc mounting screws (15 Nm);
  • – Pad guide mounting bolts (105 Nm).

Before installation, apply FRENEBLOC (or equivalent) to the threads of the pad guide mounting bolts.

Install the wheels.

Tighten the wheel mounting bolts to the specified torque of 105 Nm.
