We replace the hoses if they show signs of wear, severe kinks, or damage.

The Renault Megane 2 has four brake hoses: two on the body base for connecting the hoses, two on the rear suspension beam, and two front brake hoses.
Replacing the front brake hoses.
Place chocks under the rear wheels and raise the front of the car.
Remove the front wheels.

Unscrew the pipe fastening nut and put the plug on the pipe.

Removing the brake hose from the shock strut bracket.

Unscrew the hose fitting from the front brake master cylinder.

Remove the brake hose from the car.
Reinstall the hose in reverse order.
Also replace the hose on the other side.
After replacing the hose Bleeding the brake system.
Replacing the rear brake hoses
Place chocks under the front wheels, raise the rear of the car, and remove the rear wheels.

Unscrew the two nuts securing the lines attached to the rear suspension beam.

Move the lines aside and install the bleeder valve plugs.

Unscrew the two nuts securing the pipes attached to the body base.

Remove the brake lines from the body base bracket.
Install the lines in reverse. Sequence. After replacing the hoses, bleed the brakes.
Replacing the brake lines
Place the car on a lift or in an inspection pit.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Unscrew the line nuts on the ABS hydraulic module.

Pry up and remove the fastening clips and remove the sound insulation

Releasing the lines from their holders

Unscrew the nut securing the line to the front brake hose.
Also unscrew the nut securing the line on the other side.
Remove the front brake lines.

Unscrew the nut securing the line to the rear brake master cylinder.
Also unscrew the line on the other side.

Unscrew the two nuts securing the lines attached to the rear suspension beam.

Moving the lines to the side

Removing the lines secured to the holders On the rear suspension beam.

On the right side of the body base, unscrew the two nuts securing the front mudguard.

Remove the four nuts securing the rear mudguard.

Removing the lines from the holders at the front of the body
Install the lines in the reverse order.
Make sure the brake lines are secured in place The holders are not pinched and that the lines are not tangled.
If the brake lines are tangled, the ABS and electronic stability control system will not function properly.
Tighten to the specified torque:
- - rigid line in the rear suspension beam area (14 Nm);
- - rigid line in the brake caliper area (14 Nm).
Bleed the brake system.
