The engine oil must be changed in accordance with the maintenance schedule for each specific vehicle.
Usually, the mileage of a car before the next oil change is 10-15 thousand km
Motor oils are used depending on the ambient temperature
Engine oils with API quality levels: SF, SG, SH, SJ and viscosity depending on ambient temperature:
- -20° to +40°C SAE 15W-40
- -25° to +35°C SAE 10W-30
- -25° to +45°C SAE 10W-40
- -30° to +35°C SAE 5W-30
The volume of the lubrication system is 5.8 (excluding the volume of the oil cooler)
It is best to change the oil after a trip, when the oil is warm
Preparing the car for the task
We install the car on a lift or a viewing ditch
Remove the side mudguard of the engine
Unscrew the filler cap
We substitute a wide container under the drain hole of the engine pan, with a volume of at least six liters
Unscrew the drain plug with a 24 wrench
Drain the used oil into a container
Keep in mind that the oil is hot
Replacing the filter element
On the UMP engine, the oil filter is not collapsible and is installed on the right side of the cylinder block
Unscrew the filter
On the new filter, lubricate the gasket and half fill the new filter with engine oil
We screw the filter onto the fitting until the gasket touches the cylinder block and tighten it ¾ turn by hand
On other engines, use a 14 key to unscrew the plug and drain the oil from the oil filter housing
Using a 24 wrench, unscrew the nut
Remove the washer
Remove the oil filter housing cover
Remove the metal washer and rubber o-ring
Retrieving the filter element
Remove the rod from it
After draining the oil, a small part of it remains in the tubes of the oil cooler, the emptying of which is not provided for by the operating manual.
If necessary, you can merge it
To do this, disconnect the hoses from the oil cooler
- and drain the oil from one fitting, supplying compressed air to the other
We twist the plugs of the drain holes of the filter and the oil pan
Installing a new filter element
Pour fresh engine oil into the filter housing
Install the cover on the oil filter housing
Pour 5.8 liters of fresh engine oil into the filler neck
For control, we take out the dipstick
The oil level must be between the "0" and "P" marks.
Tighten the filler cap and start the engine
Make sure that the emergency pressure warning light has gone out and that there are no leaks from under the filter cover.
After stopping the engine, after waiting ten minutes, check the oil level again, top up if necessary.
