We remove the steering column for repair or replacement
We prepare the car and disconnect the negative battery terminal
Remove the airbag module, steering wheel and steering column covers, as described in the previous article

Remove the spiral busbar

Remove the steering column switches assembly with the connector


Press the latch and disconnect the wire block from the immobilizer antenna unit

Disconnecting the block of wires of the electronic ignition lock


Press the latch and disconnect the wire block from the ignition switch backlight


We also disconnect the other two wire blocks from the ignition switch

We bite with side cutters the clamps that attach the wires to the steering column and take the wiring harness to the side

We unscrew the bolt of the terminal connection of the intermediate shaft with the steering shaft

Disconnecting the shafts

We unscrew the two nuts securing the steering column on the left

Unscrew the nut of the front and rear fasteners on the right

Remove the steering shaft collar from the bottom of the steering column, overcoming the resistance of the clamps

Remove the steering column with the ignition lock by disconnecting the intermediate shaft and the steering shaft

On the intermediate shaft, on its outer and inner parts, marks of relative position are applied

If for some reason, during the removal of the steering column, the inner part of the intermediate shaft was removed from its outer part, you need to lubricate the splines with silicone grease before installation, combine both marks and insert the inner part of the shaft until it stops into its outer part
Check the mutual position of the shafts according to the mark on the yoke of the lower universal joint
Install parts in reverse order
