We replace the supports in case of their defects or during the repair of the power plant
If any of the supports deteriorates, then the power plant sags on the side on which the support is poor (not the correct tilt of the power plant relative to the body).
If the rubber inside the support is broken, then there is a knock when starting the car or when driving over bumps.
Removing the rear support of the power unit
We install the car on a viewing ditch or on a lift.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Removing the engine crankcase protection (article - Removing the protection of the Nissan Almera power unit)
With a head of 18, we unscrew the bolt 1 (Fig. 1) and loosen the bolt 2 fastening the support and the support bracket to the gearbox housing
Remove the support bracket (Fig. 2).
With a head of 18, we unscrew the bolt securing the support to the subframe (Fig. 3).
Remove the support (Fig. 4).
View of the rear support of the power plant (Fig. 5).
Install the rear support in reverse order.
We tighten the fasteners with the following moment:
- - bolt 1 (fig. 6) fastening the rear engine mount to the front suspension subframe 105 Nm (10.5 kgf.m);
- - bolts 2 for fastening the rear engine mount on the gearbox 105 Nm (10.5 kgf.m).
After all operations, install the crankcase protection.
Replacing the right support of the power unit
We install the car on a viewing ditch or a lift.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal
We unscrew the bolts protecting the power unit (Fig. 7).
Remove protection (Fig. 8).
Slightly hang the right side behind the eye or using a jack.
To support the engine, you can use a crosshead, which is installed on the gutters of the engine compartment.
You can use a wooden block (Fig. 9), which we install between the oil pan.
Remove the tubes from the holders on the support (Fig. 10).
With a head of 16, we unscrew the three bolts securing the support bracket to the upper timing cover (Fig. 11).
Mark the position of the right engine mount with a marker on the body.
We unscrew the two bolts securing the support to the body (Fig. 12).
Remove the support mounting bolts.
It must be taken into account that the bolt of the left fastening of the support bracket is longer than the bolts of the right fastening (Fig. 13).
Remove the right support of the power unit assembly with the bracket (Fig. 14).
View of the support (Fig. 15).
Torque tighten bolts:
- - bolts for fastening the bracket of the right suspension support to the engine 62 Nm (6.2 kgf.m);
- - bolts for fastening the right suspension support to the body 62 Nm (6.2 kgf.m)
Removing and installing the left support of the power unit
We install the car on a lift or a viewing hole.
- Remove the battery
- Remove the battery tray
- Remove the ECM
- Remove the crankcase protection (as shown above)
We hang out the left side of the engine (you can use a traverse or a wooden block substituted under the engine crankcase).
With a head of 16, we unscrew the three bolts (Fig. 17) securing the support bracket to the gearbox
With a 13 head with an extension, we unscrew the front bolt of the upper fastening of the support bracket to the side member under the battery platform (Fig. 18).
Using a 13 key, we unscrew the rear bolt of the upper fastening of the support bracket to the side member, located behind the battery platform (Fig. 19).
Under the platform with a head of 13, we turn off two bolts of the lower fastening of the support bracket to the side member by 2-3 turns
Figure 20 shows the location of the bracket mounting holes
Remove the left support
If there is a need, then unscrew the nut securing the support to the bracket with a 16 wrench (Fig. 21).
Remove the support from the bracket (Fig. 23).
Remove the rubber insert from the support (Fig. 24).
Remove the support cushion (Fig. 25).
Install the support in reverse order.
Tightening torques for the left support:
The tightening torque of the nuts for the studs of the left engine mount is 105 Nm (10.5 kgf.m)
Install the nut 1 of the gearbox mounting stud to the pillow 2 of the left engine mount.
Tightening torque of the left support stud nut 62 Nm (6.2 kgf.m).
Install and tighten the power steering pipe bolt (if equipped) to the left engine mount.
The tightening torque of the hydraulic booster pipeline bolt is 21 Nm (2.1 kgf.m).
