If the oil leak from under the cylinder head cover cannot be stopped by tightening the cover bolts, replace the cover gasket.

You will need: tools for crushing the air filter, ignition module, and a T50 TORX wrench.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Remove the canister purge hose from its holder on the cylinder head cover.

Remove the ignition module (see "Ignition Module on a Renault Logan").

Remove the air filter (see "Replacing the air filter on a Renault Logan").

Disconnect the fittings Cylinder head cover hoses large...

and a small branch of the crankcase ventilation system.

Remove the eight cylinder head cover mounting screws.

Remove the cover and the gasket underneath

Clean the cover grooves and the cylinder head surface of any remaining old gasket.

Reinstall the cylinder head cover and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

Tighten the cover mounting bolts in the order shown in the photo, in two stages:

  • Stage 1: Pre-tighten to 2.0 Nm;
  • Stage 2: Final tighten to 10.0 Nm.
