Checking the fuel pressure

Checking the fuel pressure in the engine fuel rail is only possible with a pressure gauge and a set of adapters for connecting to the fuel line.

Renault: Checking the pressure in the Renault Logan engine fuel system

Turn on the ignition and listen: you should hear a sound within a few seconds. operation of the electric fuel pump.

If you cannot hear it, check the electric fuel pump power circuit.

Keep in mind that the electric fuel pump will not turn on if there is pressure in the fuel supply system.

In other words, if you previously turned on the ignition and tried to start the engine, then a working electric fuel pump should have already created pressure in the system, and its failure to turn on in this case is not a malfunction.

Renault: Checking the pressure in the Renault Logan engine fuel system

Disconnect the pressure line from the fuel pump (see "Replacing the fuel pump").

For  To check the fuel pressure, connect a pressure gauge (with a minimum measurement range of 5 kgf/cm) between the fuel pump and the delivery line.

When the engine is idling, the pressure in the fuel line should be approximately 3 kgf/cm.

The following are possible causes of low pressure:

- faulty fuel pressure regulator;

Loss of fuel system pressure

The fuel in the fuel system is under high pressure, so do not loosen the fuel line connections while the engine is running or immediately after it has stopped.

To carry out repairs to the fuel system on a freshly stopped engine, It is necessary to first reduce the pressure in the fuel system.

After 2-3 hours of engine shutdown, the pressure in the fuel system will drop to almost zero.

Turn off the ignition, open the hood, and support it.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery, start the engine, and let it run until the fuel rail is completely depleted.

After this, the engine The engine will stall.

Turn off the ignition. Now you can disconnect the fuel lines.
