Place the vehicle on a two-post lift
Raise the vehicle until the wheels are a few centimeters off the floor
Connect the diagnostic tool (CLIP).
Engage with the automatic transmission control unit.
Monitor the automatic transmission oil temperature.
The test should be performed when the oil temperature is between 60° and 80°C.
Start the engine and place the selector lever in position D.
Monitor the engine speed.
Engage with the control unit.
While holding the brake pedal down, fully depress the accelerator pedal.
The front wheels should not rotate.
Do not hold The accelerator pedal is pressed all the way for more than 5 seconds.
Exceeding this period of time can cause damage to the torque converter or the automatic transmission itself.
Immediately after taking the measurement, release the accelerator pedal and continue to hold the brake pedal down until the engine speed stabilizes in idle mode (failure to do so can result in automatic transmission failure).
For vehicles with a K4M engine, the crankshaft speed is set at 2700 ±150 min-1.
For vehicles with an F4R engine, the crankshaft speed is set at 2500 min-1.
If torque converter lockup occurs at an engine speed that is not within the specified range, replace Torque converter.
Torque converter lockup at low crankshaft speeds may be caused by insufficient engine power.
