The main elements of the front suspension are telescopic shock absorber struts, combining the functions of a telescopic element of the guide mechanism and a damping element for vertical oscillations of the wheel relative to the body.

Coiled cylindrical springs, compression buffers with protective covers and upper supports with thrust bearings are assembled on shock absorber struts.

The load is transferred to the vehicle body through the upper support. The shock absorber strut is connected to the suspension arm through the steering knuckle by a ball joint.

The anti-roll bar is connected to the front suspension subframe by two brackets through rubber cushions, and to the shock absorber struts, the anti-roll bar struts.

The suspension arms are attached to the front suspension subframe via rubber-to-metal hinges.

Removing the anti-roll bar

The stabilizer post is removed and replaced when its rod is deformed, a backlash appears in its ball joints, the protective hinge covers are damaged, and when other suspension elements are repaired. We carry out the work on a flat area.

We hang the front part of the car - both front wheels, since when hanging only one wheel, the stabilizer pushes the suspension elements up, which prevents dismantling. We remove the wheel.

Using a 16 key, unscrew the nut securing the finger of the upper hinge of the stabilizer post, holding it with a hexagon 5 from turning

We remove the finger from the hole in the bracket of the shock mount

In the same way, unscrew the nut securing the finger of the lower hinge of the rack to the stabilizer bar

Remove the anti-roll bar

Install the rack in reverse order. Tighten the nuts securing the fingers of the stabilizer strut to a torque of 35 Nm.

Replacing the stabilizer bar pads

We change the rubber cushions for attaching the rod to the front suspension subframe when they break and wear out, as a result of which backlash occurs in the connection of the parts.

With a 13 head, unscrew the two bolts securing the stabilizer bar bracket to the subframe

Removing the bracket and cushion of the stabilizer bar

Install the cushion and stabilizer bracket in reverse order.

When installing, take into account that the slot on the pillow should be directed forward (in the direction of the vehicle's movement).

We tighten the bracket mounting bolts to a torque of 25 Nm.

Removing the anti-roll bar

We remove the anti-roll bar to replace it when it is deformed or broken.

We carry out the work on a viewing ditch or overpass.

Disconnect the stabilizer struts from the bar and remove the bar cushions as described above.

Removing the shock mount and disassembling it

We install the spring so that its lower turn rests against the protrusion of the lower spring cup, welded to the rack body

And so that the upper turn rests against the stamping of the upper spring cup. Tighten the nut of the upper support with a torque of 62 Nm.

Removing the lever and ball joint

The lever is removed to replace the ball joint or the lever itself when it is deformed, cracked in the metal, and also if the silent blocks of the lever are damaged (rupture, peeling rubber).

We carry out the work on a viewing ditch or overpass.

We hang the front of the car - both front wheels, since when hanging only one wheel, the anti-roll bar interferes with the dismantling of the lever, pressing the suspension elements up.

Remove the front wheel.

With a key of 18, we unscrew the nut securing the pin of the ball joint until it rests against the housing of the outer hinge of the wheel drive.

We substitute an adjustable stop under the steering knuckle.

Using a mounting blade, we squeeze the lever with a ball joint down while striking with a hammer through the spacer on the steering knuckle eyelet, pressing the ball joint pin out of the eyelet.

Then, as the ball pin comes out of the steering knuckle eyelet, unscrew the nut.

The ball joint is not supplied separately by the manufacturer as spare parts and is replaced together with the lever.

However, it can be removed from the arm and replaced with a similar support from other manufacturers.

To do this, we drill the heads of the rivets securing the body of the ball joint, and fasten it with bolts and nuts.
