We prepare the car and install it on a lift or an inspection ditch.
Unscrew the wheel bolts from the side to be performed and remove the wheel.
Use a hammer handle to push out the decorative plug of the wheel disc
Remove the decorative plug
Put the wheel in place and fasten it with two opposite bolts.
We lower the car on the wheels and turn on the parking brake.
With a head of 30, we loosen the wheel bearing nut, while the assistant must press the brake pedal.
After that, hang out and remove the wheel.
Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle
Remove the front wheel speed sensor
Remove the disc and brake shield
Remove the ball joint pin from the steering knuckle hole
Disconnect the shock strut from the steering knuckle
Remove the steering knuckle assembly with the hub from the splined shank of the outer hinge housing of the wheel drive.
Remove the fist assembly with the lever
Disconnect the fist from the ball joint
Using a TorxT-30 wrench, unscrew the three screws securing the brake shield and remove the shield
We rest the steering knuckle on the vise jaws. Striking the end of the hub through the mandrel, we press out the hub
In this case, the inner ring of the bearing, located closer to hub flange, remains on the hub. We clamp the hub flange in a vice.
Insert a chisel between the end face of the inner bearing ring and the shoulder of the hub.
By striking the chisel with a hammer, we move the inner ring of the bearing along the hub.
Insert the grips of the puller into the gap and press the inner ring of the bearing from the hub.
Remove the bearing circlip from the knuckle groove
Using a cup puller, we press the bearing out of the steering knuckle
The bearing can be pressed out by impact.
To do this, we rest our fist on the vise jaws, and striking the end of the inner ring of the bearing through a mandrel or head of a suitable size, we press the bearing out of the fist.
Before installing the bearing, we clean the mounting hole in the steering knuckle and the groove for the retaining ring.
Using a file, we clean the nicks from the chisel on the hub.
The bearing must be installed so that its dark-colored protective washer made of magnetic material is facing the speed sensor.
We press the bearing, applying force through the puller cup to the outer ring of the bearing and leaning on the fist with the puller.
After pressing the bearing, we install a retaining ring in the groove of the fist.
We press the hub into the bearing, leaning with the puller on its inner ring.
After that, install all the parts in reverse order.
