We remove the front door upholstery to repair and replace door elements, as well as when repairing door panels or replacing the door itself.
Tools required: Torx T20, T30 wrenches, flat blade screwdriver, knife.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal
Pry off the power window control unit with a flat screwdriver
Remove the block from the hole in the door upholstery
Pressing the lock of the wiring harness block, disconnect it from the front door power window control switch
In the same way, disconnect the wire block from the rear door power window control switch
Squeeze the two clamps of the wire block and disconnect it from the rear window lock switch.
Use the TorxT30 key to unscrew the screw securing the inner door handle
Remove the handle from the door upholstery, removing the rod from the hole in the handle lever.
Pry off the plug in the door armrest with a slotted screwdriver with a thin blade
Using the TorxT20 key, unscrew the self-tapping screw securing the armrest to the bracket of the inner door panel
Using a Torx T20 key, unscrew the screw securing the upholstery to the end of the door
Using a flat screwdriver with a thin blade, pry off the decorative lining of the door handle
Removing the decorative lining
Use the TorxT30 key to unscrew the door handle fastening screw
Pry off the speaker cover with a flat screwdriver
Flip the lid down
Using the TorxT20 key, unscrew the four screws securing the speaker to the door trim
Remove the speaker from the niche in the door upholstery
Push the lock of the wire block
Disconnect the wire block from the speaker
Using the TorxT20 key, unscrew the three screws securing the door trim
By pulling the edge of the upholstery, we separate it from the inner panel of the door, overcoming the resistance of eleven caps and adhesive mastic applied from below and on the sides.
Having lifted the upholstery, we remove the button for locking the lock from the hole in the upholstery.
We bring out the wire pads through the hole in the door trim and remove the trim
The location of the caps on the inside of the door trim
We replace damaged caps. Install the upholstery in reverse order.
