We replace the elements of the parking assistance system when they fail.
Ultrasonic sensors built into the car's rear bumper "measure" the distance between the car and an obstacle when reversing.
The measurement is accompanied by beeps, the frequency of which increases as the car approaches the obstacle: as soon as the distance between the car and the obstacle approaches 40 centimeters, the signal will sound continuously.
Beep sounds when reversing.
If the beep is long (3 seconds), it indicates a malfunction.
Replacing parking sensors
Parking sensors installed in the rear bumper
Tools required: Torx T20, T30, flat blade screwdriver
Disconnect the negative battery terminal
Removing the rear bumper (article - Removing and installing Renault Duster bumpers)
Press out the latch
And disconnect the wiring harness block from the sensor
Press the latch with a screwdriver
Remove the sensor from the holder in the bumper
Install the sensor in reverse order
Replacing the parking control unit
Required: Torx T30 wrench, special plastic spudger or flat blade screwdriver
Disconnect the negative battery terminal
Remove the lining on the left side of the luggage compartment
We press the latch and disconnect the block of the wiring harness from the block
Remove two screws
Removing the parking control unit
Install the block in reverse order.
Replacing the parking aid buzzer
Tools required: Torx T20, E30 wrenches, plastic spudger or flat blade screwdriver
Remove the left upper part of the luggage compartment lining
We press the latch and disconnect the block from the buzzer wiring harness
Unscrew the spacer pins and remove the two plastic buzzer holders from the holes
Remove the buzzer
Install the buzzer in reverse order.
