The input shaft oil seal is installed in a non-separable clutch release bearing guide sleeve assembly along with the input shaft front bearing.

The guide sleeve assembly is pressed into the clutch housing.

Special tools are required to press out and then press in the guide sleeve assembly, so if oil leaks from the input shaft oil seal, contact a service center for replacement.

The left front wheel drive inner constant velocity joint (CV) oil seal is installed in the CV joint mud boot.

If oil leaks from this oil seal, remove the CV joint boot and replace the bearing assembly with the oil seal.

Left front wheel drive inner CV joint oil seal and differential half-pinion shaft end seals The transmission oil can be replaced without removing the transmission from the vehicle. You will need: all the tools necessary for removing the front wheel drive, as well as a screwdriver, hammer, and drift. Place the vehicle on an inspection pit or lift.

Renault: Replacing Renault Logan Gearbox Seals

Using a screwdriver, remove the seal from its seat in the crankcase gearbox.

It is quite difficult to pry the oil seal with a screwdriver through the gap between its lip and the axle gear shank.

Since the oil seal cannot be reinstalled, you can use a hammer blow on one edge of the oil seal to turn it in its seat, deforming it so that the other edge protrudes beyond the lip of the seat in the gearbox housing.

Then grasp the protruding edge of the oil seal with pliers and remove it from the seat.

Lubricate the seal lip with transmission oil and press it in with a mandrel of a suitable diameter, with the lip facing inside the gearbox.

Be very careful when installing the oil seal into the gearbox seat to avoid damaging the lip with the sharp splines of the axle gear shank.

To protect the oil seal from damage, we recommend wrapping it in Cover the splined end of the axle shaft with a strip of sheet metal or thick aluminum foil. You can also find a thin-walled bushing of a suitable diameter for this purpose.

Install the rubber sealing ring on the axle shaft.

Install the front wheel drive (see "Replacing the Front Wheel Drives on a Renault Logan").

Fill the gearbox with oil.
