Place the vehicle on a two-post lift
Make sure the color coding of the vehicle's springs and shock absorbers is identical to the color coding of the spare parts
Unlock the steering wheel.
Disconnect the battery cables, starting with the negative terminal.
Remove the front wheels.

Unscrew the retainer Upper shock strut cover mounting piston

Removing the piston

Cut along the tear line and fold back the cover.

Loosen the nut securing the shock absorber rod to the upper mount.
Remove the three bolts securing the upper shock strut mount to the body.

Raise the front of the car, place it on secure chocks, and remove the wheel.

Remove the bolt securing the steering knuckle to the shock strut.

Remove the bolt and brake hose retainer.

If you don't have a special tool, hold the shock strut and knock the steering knuckle off it with a hammer.

Removing the shock strut.
Reinstall the parts in reverse order. Tighten the upper strut mount nut with the vehicle on the ground.
Shock Strut Repair
The shock strut parts are shown in Figure 1.

Remove the shock strut as shown above.

Install the spring compressor

Compress the spring

Loosen the piston rod nut, holding the piston rod from turning with a second wrench.

Remove the nut.

Remove the upper support

Remove the support cup

Removing the spring

Removing the rubber gasket from the spring

Removing the compression buffer with its protective cover from the shock strut rod.

Install the shock absorber vertically and lower and raise the piston rod several times.
This ensures that the piston rod moves without any dips, binding, or knocking. If not, replace it.
Install the parts in reverse order.
Tighten the piston rod nut with the vehicle on the ground.
Installation
Secure the spring compressor in a vice.
Remove the spring compressor.
Install the remaining components in the reverse order of removal.
Secure the wheel speed sensor wires if they were disconnected from the bracket. Do not twist the brake cable. hose.
Tighten to the specified torque:
- – shock absorber strut-to-body mounting nut (44 Nm);
- – shock absorber strut-to-steering knuckle mounting bolts (105 Nm);
- – wheel bolts (105 Nm).
