Remove the transfer case and clean it of dirt

Drain the oil from the transfer case.

Before inspecting the parts of the gearbox, thoroughly clean, remove all deposits with a brush or scraper and clean the holes and splines from possible contamination; then flush (with kerosene, thinner, etc.) to remove and dissolve any remaining oil.

Before inspection, thoroughly clean all parts of the transfer box with a brush and scraper, and then rinse. Blow the parts with compressed air.

The transfer box VAZ-2123 is designed to change the amount of torque and distribute it between the front and rear axles.
