The transfer box VAZ-2123 is designed to change the amount of torque and distribute it between the front and rear axles.

The drive gear of the main gear is made integral with the shaft (shank) and is installed in the neck of the gearbox on two tapered bearings.

Remove the transfer case and clean it of dirt

Before inspection, thoroughly clean all parts of the transfer box with a brush and scraper, and then rinse. Blow the parts with compressed air.
