The lock and its drive are removed for replacement.
Opening the tailgate
Using a Torx T20 wrench, unscrew the two screws securing the door upholstery
Pry off the edge of the upholstery with a slotted screwdriver
We separate it from the inner panel of the door, overcoming the resistance of eight caps and remove it.
To remove the cylinder mechanism (cell), we press the yellow plastic lock of the cylinder mechanism of the lock on the intermediate lever, turn it around the axis and remove the end of the rod from the hole of the intermediate lever.
Using a 10-head with an extension, unscrew the three nuts securing the flange of the lock cylinder mechanism body
Remove it from the door studs along with the electric lock lock
Pressing the lock of the wiring harness block, disconnect it from the electric drive
Remove the cylinder mechanism of the electric lock
Using the Torx T20 key, we unscrew the screw securing the electric drive to the body of the cylinder mechanism of the door lock
Remove the rod 1 of the electric drive from the lever 2 of the cylinder mechanism of the lock.
To remove the tailgate lock, depress the white plastic retainer of the lock rod on the intermediate lever, turn it around the axis and remove the end of the rod from the hole in the intermediate lever.
Use the Torx T30 key to unscrew the two screws securing the lock
We bring it out, together with the rod, from the hole in the inner panel of the door
By pressing the latch, disconnect the wire block from the limit switch of the lock and remove the lock together with the rod.
To remove the intermediate lever of the lock drive, disconnect both rods from it
Using the Torx T50 key, unscrew the screw securing the intermediate lever of the lock drive and remove the lever.
The length of the rod connecting the intermediate lever with the cylinder mechanism of the lock can be changed due to the turns knurled on it.
After installing the lock and its drive parts, the cylinder mechanism rod is latched in the required position with a metal lock, while the lock and the lock cylinder mechanism must be in a free position.
If the tailgate cannot be opened from outside the vehicle, it can be opened from inside the tailgate.
To do this, press the lock lever and open the tailgate.
