Removal and installation of the crankshaft position sensor

The sensor is installed in the front cover of the cylinder block on the right side.

If the crankshaft position sensor fails, the engine will not start.

If the sensor works intermittently, (poor start or interruptions in the engine operation), you need to check for the absence of foreign particles at the magnetic end of the sensor.

If debris is present, the sensor must be cleaned.

To remove the sensor, you need a flat-blade screwdriver and a 5-point Allen key.

Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

Use a screwdriver to move the locking bar of the wiring harness block

Compress the retainer

Disconnect the wiring harness block from the crankshaft position sensor

Unscrew the sensor fastening screw

Install the new crankshaft position sensor in reverse order. The tightening torque of the bolt is 8 Nm.

Camshaft position sensor

The camshaft sensor is installed in the hole in the upper timing chain casing, in the rear of the engine on the left side.

If the camshaft sensor stops working, then the controller only uses the signals from the crankshaft sensor.

You will need a screwdriver and a 5 Allen key.

We move the stopper of the block of wires. Squeeze and disconnect the wiring block from the sensor

Remove the camshaft position sensor.

Install the sensor in the reverse order.

Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil. The tightening torque of the screw is 8 Nm.

Combined boost pressure / intake manifold temperature sensor

The air pressure and temperature sensors in the intake manifold are combined into a single unit.

The sensor is installed on top of the engine intake pipe.

If the combination sensor is defective, the controller limits the boost pressure and the engine power is reduced.

Squeeze the wire block retainer

Disconnect the block of wires from the sensor

Unscrew the screw that secures the combined sensor.

Remove the sensor from the engine by pulling it vertically upwards.

When removing the transducer, do not damage the O-ring and the plastic guard surrounding the transducer tip. Do not use the lever to avoid damaging the plastic guard.

We check the wiring harness connector and the combined sensor for the following defects:

- cracks or damage to the case;

- missing or damaged connector seals;

- dirt, foreign particles or moisture on the connector contacts;

- corroded, bent, broken, depressed or extended pins in the connector.

We check the sensor tip for the absence of soot and deposits, carbon deposits.

If necessary, remove the soot with compressed air.

Do not replace the sensor due to the presence of soot on it.

We install the sensor on the engine. Tighten the bolt to 6 Nm.

Atmospheric pressure sensor

The sensor is attached to the wiring harness without attaching it to the engine with bolts on the left side.

If the sensor fails, the controller will bypass using the calculated average atmospheric pressure.

Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery

We cut off the clamp of the atmospheric pressure sensor to the engine wiring harness

We move the locking bar of the wiring harness block

Compress the retainer

Disconnect the atmospheric pressure sensor from the shoe

The sensor can only be checked with a diagnostic tester.

Install the atmospheric pressure sensor and attach it to the engine wiring harness with a new clamp.

Fuel pressure sensor

The fuel pressure sensor is located on the rail, screwed into the hole. If the fuel pressure sensor fails, the injection pump does not work.

To remove the sensor, you must relieve the pressure in the fuel line.

Squeeze the lug of the tip of the fuel supply pipeline to the injection pump

Disconnect the pipeline.

We start the engine and let it run until it comes to a complete stop (by doing so, we have relieved the pressure in the fuel line).

Compress the retainer

Disconnect the wiring block from the fuel pressure sensor

Using a key 27, unscrew the sensor from the fuel rail

We inspect the connector and the sensor itself for the following defects:

- cracks or damage to the connector housing;

- missing or damaged connector seals;

- dirt, foreign particles or moisture on the connector contacts;

- corroded, bent, broken, depressed or extended pins in the connector.

We check the fuel pressure sensor for the following damage:

- damage to the contact surface on the fuel line;

- damage to the contact surface on the sensor;

- damage to the thread.

Installing a new fuel pressure sensor. The tightening torque of the sensor is 70 Nm.

We start the engine and check the tightness of the sensor connection.

Replacing the coolant temperature sensor

The coolant temperature sensor, designed to determine the temperature of the coolant in the engine, is installed in the bore of the thermostat housing located closer to the cylinder block.

The second sensor, installed in the bore of the thermostat housing closer to the radiator, is used to operate the coolant temperature gauge in the instrument cluster.

The control unit, according to the indication of the coolant temperature sensor, changes the moment of the start of fuel injection and controls the air heater in the intake pipe.

If a sensor malfunction occurs, the controller takes an average temperature value.

We prepare the car for the job. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

Squeeze out the retainer

Disconnect the wiring block from the coolant temperature sensor

Unscrew the sensor

We remove it from the threaded hole of the thermostat housing

After unscrewing the sensor, immediately insert the plug or screw in a new sensor so as not to drain the coolant.

Install the new sensor in reverse order. The rubber sealing ring must be replaced with a new one.

Before connecting the block of wires, you need to carefully inspect it for defects.
