It is recommended to replace the engine oil and filter after twenty thousand kilometers of the car's run.
In severe operating conditions, it is advisable to change the oil and filter earlier. It all depends on the quality of the oil and the condition of the engine.
With the increase in engine operating hours, it is necessary to reduce the time for changing the oil and filter.
Motor oil
SAE Viscosity Grade:
- 0W-30 (from minus 30 to plus 20 ° С)
- 0W-40 (from minus 30 to plus 35 ° С)
- 5W-40 (from minus 25 to plus 35 ° С)
- 10W-40 (from minus 20 to plus 40 ° С)
- 15W-40 (from minus 15 to plus 45 ° С)
- - Cummins - 6.5 l API quality class: not lower than СI-4
- - Evotech (А274) - 4.5 l (without oil cooler) API quality class: not lower than SN
For the Evotech (A274) engine, it is prohibited to use engine oils of ACEA quality class only A1 / B1 or A5 / B5, since under certain operating conditions it can lead to engine and converter failure.
Motor oils used in a diesel engine of a car must comply with an API quality class of at least CI-4, and those used in a gasoline engine must be at least SN and SAE viscosity grade according to the stable ambient temperature range of the region in which the car is mainly operated.
If the outside air temperature exceeds the oil application range, do not run the engine at a high crankshaft speed for a long time and do not subject it to heavy load.
If the outside temperature falls below the application temperature range of the oil filled in the engine, it may be difficult to start the engine.
Use of API CD, CC or CF grade engine oils may result in premature engine failure.
When replacing engine oil with oil of another brand or another company, flushing the lubrication system with flushing oil is mandatory.
Mixing (topping up) of engine oils of different brands and companies is prohibited.
The oil level should be checked with the engine cold, not running, and the vehicle should be parked on a level, horizontal platform.
Cummins engine
The engine oil level should be between the "MAX" and "MIN" marks on the dipstick 2.
Add oil if necessary.
The volume of oil added to the engine crankcase from the mark of the lower level to the mark of the upper level of the oil dipstick is 1.0 l.
Pour fresh oil through the oil filler neck closed with plug 1.
Evotech engine (А274)
The engine oil level should be between the "MAX" and "MIN" marks on the dipstick 2. Add oil if necessary.
The volume of oil to be added to the engine crankcase from the mark of the lower level to the mark of the upper level of the oil dipstick is 1.125 liters.
Pour fresh oil through the oil filler neck closed with plug 1.
To change the oil and filter, you will need: engine oil, a capacity of at least seven liters for draining the oil, a 10-point square wrench, a special wrench for unscrewing the oil filter.
It is advisable to drain the oil after a trip, or warm up the engine to a temperature of + 60˚.
We install the car on a viewing ditch or lift.
Turn the oil filler cap counterclockwise and remove it.
We clean the drain plug in the engine oil sump.
We unscrew the plug, after substituting a container for draining the oil, and drain the oil (you need to work with protective gloves).
We turn off the oil filter counterclockwise.
If the filter cannot be unscrewed by hand, then we shake it off with a square key.
We wipe the mating surface of the front cover flange.
Fill the new filter with clean engine oil.
Lubricate the O-ring 1 and only the main gasket 2.
Make sure the backing pad 3 remains clean and dry. Do not lubricate it.
We install the oil filter and tighten it by hand without using a tool until the lower O-ring touches. We turn the filter housing with a torque of 40 Nm.
We tighten the drain plug and tighten it to 24 Nm.
A rubber sealing ring is installed on the drain plug.
Fill in new engine oil. We wrap the oil filler cap.
We start the engine and let it idle for several minutes (the warning lamp for an emergency drop in oil pressure should go out 2 - 3 seconds after starting the engine).
We stop the engine and check the tightness of the drain plug and filter connections.
We check the oil level, add oil if necessary.
