We replace the elements of the engine exhaust system in case of damage or burnout
Replacing system suspension pads
We replace rubber cushions if, due to their damage or excessive deformation, the elements of the system begin to knock, in contact with the body or other units of the car
To replace the pillows of the main muffler, pry off the pillow to be replaced with a screwdriver and slide it from the muffler bracket, then from the bracket on the body, and then remove the pillow
A damaged pillow can be cut open with a knife for easier removal
Install the pillow in reverse order
To facilitate the installation of a new pillow, lubricate it with soapy water
We also replace the rest of the main silencer cushions
This is how the pillows of the main silencers and two pillows of the exhaust pipe at the resonator are located
Exhaust manifold replacement
Remove the decorative cover and crankcase protection
Remove the thermal screen of the exhaust manifold
We unscrew the two nuts securing the flanges of the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe.
Then we remove the front pipe
We unscrew the seven nuts securing the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head
Remove the exhaust manifold and the gasket installed on the cylinder head studs
Install the exhaust manifold and its gasket in reverse order
We tighten the fastening nuts in the order shown in the figure, with a torque of 43-64 Nm
Removing and installing the downpipe
We prepare the car and disconnect the negative battery terminal
Remove the crankcase protection
Remove the oxygen concentration sensors from the exhaust pipe and catalytic converter
Sensors can be removed from the removed exhaust pipe and converter by first disconnecting the wiring harness pads
We remove the pillows from the brackets of the exhaust pipe at the resonator by moving them with a screwdriver
We unscrew the two nuts securing the flanges of the intake pipe and the connecting pipe and remove the nuts with springs
We unscrew the two nuts securing the flanges of the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe and remove the exhaust pipe
Install downpipe in reverse order
Removing and installing the connecting pipe
We unscrew the two nuts securing the flanges of the receiving and connecting pipes, after which we separate the flanges
We unscrew the four nuts securing the flanges of the main silencers to the flanges of the connecting pipe and, having separated the flanges of the main silencers and the connecting pipe
Remove the connecting pipe
Install the connecting pipe in the reverse order, replacing the gaskets between the flanges
Replacing the main muffler
We unscrew the two nuts securing the flange of the main muffler to the flange of the connecting pipe and disconnect the flanges of the main silencer and the connecting pipe
Disconnect the main muffler from its two mounting pads and remove the main muffler from the car
If necessary, you can remove the main mufflers as an assembly with the connecting pipe by unscrewing the nuts securing the flange connection of the connecting and exhaust pipes, and disconnecting the main silencers from the four mounting pads
Removing and installing thermal screens
Remove the decorative engine cover
We unscrew the three bolts securing the thermal screen and remove the thermal screen of the exhaust manifold
Install the exhaust manifold heat shield in reverse order
To remove the thermal screen of the resonator:
Remove the connecting pipe as described above
We unscrew the four bolts securing the extension to the body and remove it
We unscrew the two bolts and two nuts securing the thermal screen to the body, then remove the thermal screen
Install the thermal screen in reverse order
