The stabilizer serves for the lateral stability of the car when driving.

We remove the stabilizer to replace its rod in case of damage or to replace its mounting pads.

During long-term operation, tears, cracking or swelling of rubber may occur on rubber bushings and pads.

Due to the wear of the rubber parts of the stabilizer, there is a backlash and a knock when driving over irregularities.

With a key or a head on 13, we unscrew the stabilizer bar mounting nut (Fig. 1) to the suspension lever, keeping the screw from turning with the Torx T-40 key.

Remove the lower rubber sleeve

A metal washer is installed in the recess of the sleeve end facing the nut (Fig. 3).

Remove the screw with the upper rubber sleeve and plastic washer.

With our hand we pull down the end of the rod and take out the rubber-metal intermediate sleeve.

We also remove the details of fixing the stabilizer bar to another lever.

We install new parts in the reverse order.

When installing the intermediate bushing, we orient it with the grooves located on the outer surface of the bushing upwards.

The nuts of the stabilizer bar mounting screws to the levers are tightened with a torque of 14 Nm when the car is on wheels.

To replace the stabilizer bar cushion with a head on 18 with an extension, unscrew the bolt securing the cushion bracket and the stretcher to the body (Fig. 6).

With a cap wrench, we turn off the nut of fastening the pillow bracket to the stretcher by 10 (Fig. 7).

We lower the bracket, removing its stud from the hole of the stretcher, and remove the bracket by removing its front end from the groove of the stretcher.

We remove the pillow from the barbell.

We install a new stabilizer bar cushion in reverse order.

The slot on the pillow should be located in front (in the direction of movement of the car).

Similarly, we replace the pillow on the other side of the stabilizer bar.

If it is necessary to dismantle the rod, disconnect both ends of it from the suspension levers and remove the cushion brackets.

Remove the stabilizer bar.

We inspect the stabilizer bar.

There should be no deep abrasive wear in the places where the pillows are installed.

Areas with deep wear significantly increase the likelihood of rod breakage.
