We remove the throttle assembly to replace the throttle position sensor or the assembly itself, as well as to remove the receiver.
Depending on the vehicle equipment, a throttle assembly with a cable-actuated damper and an electric throttle actuator can be installed on the engine.
Removing the throttle assembly with a mechanical throttle actuator
Remove the cover of the air filter housing (article - Replacing the Nissan Almera air filter)
Disconnect the wiring harness from the idle speed control
Disconnect the end of the throttle cable from the throttle lever
Remove the air supply hose from the idle speed regulator pipe
Using the E-8 head, unscrew the two screws securing the air filter housing to the cylinder head cover
We move the air filter housing back from the throttle assembly, overcoming the resistance of the rubber sealing ring located on the assembly nozzle.
At the same time, the rubber bushing of the fitting of the crankcase ventilation system of the filter housing comes off the engine oil separator pipe
With an 8 head, unscrew the two bolts securing the throttle assembly to the receiver
Slide the throttle assembly back and remove the throttle assembly
If the O-rings have lost their elasticity or are damaged, they must be replaced
Use a screwdriver to pry off the rubber sealing ring and remove it from the groove of the nozzle of the assembly
We also remove the rubber o-ring from the other nozzle of the assembly.
Install the throttle assembly in reverse order.
If the rubber bushing of the air filter housing fitting is damaged or has lost elasticity, replace it with a new one.
To facilitate the connection of the throttle assembly with the receiver and the air filter housing, we apply a thin layer of engine oil to the o-rings.
Removing the electrically actuated throttle body
The electric throttle assembly is controlled by a stepper motor on a signal from the ECU, depending on the position of the electric accelerator pedal
Remove the cover of the air filter housing
We pry off the tip of the fuel vapor supply pipe to the throttle assembly with a flat screwdriver
Remove the tip of the tube from the hole in the throttle body
Press the locking element of the throttle control block wire block
Prying off the wire block retainer with a slotted screwdriver
Disconnect the connector from the throttle control unit connector
Using the E-8 head with an extension, unscrew the screw of the right-hand fastening of the air filter housing to the cylinder head cover
Unscrew the bolt of the left fastening
We remove the screws from the holes of the filter housing and the cylinder head cover
We move the air filter housing from the nozzle of the assembly and place it between the bulkhead shield and the collector
With a head of 8, unscrew the bolt securing the receiver to the throttle assembly
We unscrew the bolt of the right fastening of the throttle assembly to the cylinder head cover
Unscrew the bolt of the left fastening
Remove the throttle assembly pipe from the receiver hole and remove the throttle assembly.
Use a screwdriver to pry off the rubber sealing ring and remove it from the groove of the nozzle of the assembly
We also remove the rubber ring from the other pipe
We assemble the throttle assembly with new o-rings in reverse order.
Before installing the air filter housing, we check the condition of the rubber bushing in the connection of the housing with the fitting of the cylinder head cover.
When putting on the air filter housing on the nozzle of the throttle assembly, we ensure the connection of the sleeve 1 of the housing with the fitting 2 of the cylinder head cover.
