Renault Logan repair

The Renault Logan is an affordable family car, so to keep its price down, components and assemblies from other Renault models were extensively used. The car's MacPherson strut front suspension with lower wishbones is based on that of the Renault Clio II, while the rear features a semi-independent H-shaped crossbeam with trailing arms, similar to the Renault Modus. The entire heating system is also borrowed from the new Modus. The electronic control unit is borrowed from the Twingo, and the car received the cooling system vents and gearshift knob from the Espace.

The design of the rear suspension of the Renault Logan car

The rear suspension is semi-independent, lever-and-spring, with longitudinal arms pivoted to the car body and connected by a U-shaped cross beam.

Design of the Renault Logan engine oil system

Oil System Design Features

The engine lubrication system is combined: the most heavily loaded parts are lubricated under pressure, while the rest are lubricated by splash.

Replacing the drive belt of Renault Logan vehicles

According to the manufacturer's recommendation, the accessory drive belt should be replaced after 4 years of operation or after 60,000 km (whichever comes first)

Checking the engine compression of a Renault Logan

Compression (pressure at the end of the compression stroke) in the cylinders is the most important indicator for diagnosing the condition of the engine without disassembling it.

Renault Logan engine design

Renault Logan vehicles are equipped with transversely mounted four-cylinder, four-stroke, gasoline-fueled, 8-valve, 1.6-liter K7M (SOHC) and 16-valve K4M (DONC) engines.
