Disconnecting the negative battery terminal

Removing the lower decorative panel of the instrument panel, overcoming the resistance of the spring clamps

Disconnect the ignition switch wiring block
If we remove the steering column for replacement, we remove the ignition switch from it by unscrewing the two bolts that secure it
In the engine compartment, unscrew the clamping bolt of the terminal connection of the upper and lower intermediate shafts
Unscrew two bolts under the instrument panel upper intermediate shaft ball joint mounting bolt
Removing the bolts
Unscrew the two bolts fastening the steering column to the panel frame on the left
And two bolts on the right
Removing the steering column
Install the parts in reverse order.
The crosspieces of the steering column shaft are non-separable, cannot be repaired, in case of wear the shaft is replaced as an assembly.
Before installation, apply anaerobic thread locker to the threaded parts of the four steering column mounting bolts and two intermediate shaft support mounting bolts.
Tighten the steering column mounting bolts to a torque of 18-25 Nm, the support mounting bolts intermediate shaft - with a torque of 5.5-8.0 Nm, intermediate shaft terminal connection bolt - with a torque of 28-32 Nm.
