A decorative casing on the engine is installed to reduce noise levels and to improve the appearance of the engine compartment
This cover must be removed when servicing the engine
The casing is fixed on three ball posts arranged vertically
To remove the cover, open the hood and place it on the stop
We take the edges of the casing and pull it up, overcoming the force of the clamps
Remove the decorative cover
When the outdoor temperature is low, the decorative cover must be removed with care
Inspecting the latches on the back of the casing
If there are signs of rubber aging and tearing of the rubber retainer element, remove it for replacement by prying it with a flat blade screwdriver
If necessary, remove the ball joints by unscrewing them from the studs securing the cylinder head cover
Install the decorative cover in reverse order
Removing the protection and mudguard of the engine
We remove the engine mudguard and crankcase protection if they are damaged or to provide access to components and assemblies from below the car during maintenance and repair
Additional crankcase protection is fixed in each case individually (depending on its design)
We unscrew the bolts of the engine crankcase protection

Remove the crankcase protection, disengaging it from the holders on the body
We unscrew the two clips of the caps securing the engine mudguard to the lower front bumper reinforcement and remove them

We unscrew the screws securing the engine mudguard to the bumper and remove the mudguard
Install the mudguard and crankcase protection in reverse order
