We remove the shock absorber to replace the upper support, spring and shock absorber
Tools will be required: wrenches for 13, 17, 18, 21, a hex for 6 and a wrench for wheel bolts.
We install the car on a flat area, brake with a parking brake and install wheel chocks under the rear wheels
Loosen the front wheel mounting bolts
Opening the hood

We loosen the nut of the upper fastening of the shock strut, holding the shock absorber rod from turning with a wrench
Raise the front part of the car and set it on reliable stops
Remove the front wheel

Unscrew the nuts of the bolts securing the steering knuckle to the shock strut

We unscrew the upper bolt of the upper guide pin of the brake mechanism, holding the guide pin from turning

We move the caliper forward and remove the lower bolt of the steering knuckle to the shock strut

Remove the upper bolt of the steering knuckle to the shock strut

We tie the steering knuckle to the body elements with wire

Unscrew the nut of the upper shock mount and remove the thrust washer

Remove the shock strut
Install the suspension strut in reverse order.
We tighten the nut of the upper mount of the rack on the car standing on wheels with a torque of 44 Nm (4.4 kgcm). The torque of the bolts for fastening the steering knuckle to the rack is 105 Nm (10.5 kgcm).
After replacing the shock strut, you need to check and adjust the wheel alignment.
Disassembling and assembling the shock strut
Tools required: 6 hex wrench, 27 wrench, spring compressor tool
Remove the shock strut as described above

Install the spring compressor and compress the spring

Unscrew the stem nut, keeping the stem from turning

Remove the nut

Remove the top support

Removing the thrust bearing

Remove the upper cup of the spring

Retrieving the spring itself

Take out the compression buffer with a protective cover
To check the shock absorber, we set it vertically and lower and raise the shock absorber rod several times until it stops.
The rod must move without dips, jams and knocks. Otherwise, replace the shock absorber.
If the protective cover and compression buffer are damaged, we will replace it.
We replace the upper support in case of severe deformation or local swelling of the rubber.
We replace the support bearing if it is corroded, has axial movement in the housing or it seizes when turning.
Assemble the shock absorber in reverse order.
The tightening torque of the shock absorber rod nut is 62 Nm (6.2 kgcm).
Springs should only be replaced in pairs

When installing the spring, it is necessary that the end of the lower coil rests against the protrusion of the lower spring cup.
