In the article, we will consider the replacement of individual parts of the tailgate and disassembly of the door
Replacing tailgate stops
We remove the stops when they have lost their effectiveness or for replacement.
Open the tailgate and fix it with a bar of suitable length.
We pry off with a screwdriver and move outward the lock of the upper hinge of the stop
Remove the retainer
Disconnect the upper hinge from the door support
Pry off with a screwdriver and remove the retainer of the lower hinge of the stop
Remove the emphasis. We also remove the second emphasis.
Install the stops in reverse order
Removing and installing tailgate upholstery
Torx T30 wrench required
Opening the tailgate
We unscrew the two screws securing the upholstery to the tailgate
Remove the upholstery from the tailgate
Install the door upholstery in reverse order
Replacing the lock and latch of the tailgate
Torx T30, Torx T40 wrenches required
Opening the tailgate
We unscrew the two screws securing the lock to the door panel
Remove the lock by disconnecting the switch rod from the lock lever
Install the lock in reverse order
We mark the position of the latch facing relative to the body so as not to disturb the adjustment of the lock and, having unscrewed the latch fastening screw, remove it
Install the latch in reverse order, matching the previously applied marks
If necessary, we adjust the accuracy of locking the tailgate by moving the lock latch relative to the body panel.
Replacing the door lock switch
Pliers required
Remove the tailgate lining as described above
Remove the rod by disconnecting it from the switch lever
Turn the switch lock counterclockwise
Remove the switch
Remove the switch cylinder from the tailgate. Install the tailgate lock switch in reverse order
Removing and installing tailgate
You will need a 10 wrench flat-blade screwdriver
Disconnect the additional brake light wiring harness block
Remove the tailgate trim as described above
Disconnect the wiring harness block from the tailgate window wiper gearmotor
Pry off the rubber plug with a screwdriver
Remove the rubber plug
Disconnect the rear window heating wire block.
We also disconnect the rear window heating wire block on the other side
Pry off the rubber cover of the tailgate harness with a screwdriver
We take it out of the hole in the tailgate and remove the wiring harness from the hole.
We also take out the tailgate glass washer hose.
We mark the position of the hinges on the door to avoid subsequent adjustment
We unscrew two bolts securing the tailgate to the hinges on each side and remove the tailgate from the car together with an assistant.
Install the tailgate in reverse order.
