We replace the oil sump gasket when the engine is overhauled and if there is oil leakage through the gasket, if the leak cannot be eliminated by tightening the bolts
To do the job, you need tools: socket heads 10, torx E8, wrench 13, engine oil, cleaning cloth, oil drain container, sealant.
We install the car on a lift or a viewing ditch.
We remove the engine crankcase protection (article - Removing the engine protection, fender liner and mudguards Renault Duster)
Drain the oil from the engine (article - Changing the oil and filter of the Renault Duster engine)

We remove the right front wheel drive (article - Removing and repairing Renault Duster front wheel drives)

Unscrew the two lower mounting bolts

We unscrew the four bolts securing the oil pan to the clutch housing

We unscrew the four bolts securing the oil pan to the front cover of the crankshaft

Unscrew the bolt of the left fastening

We unscrew the seven bolts of the rear fastening of the pallet to the cylinder block

We unscrew the seven bolts of the front fastening of the pallet to the cylinder block

Pry off with a screwdriver and remove the pan

Remove the gasket from the crankcase groove, and lay a new gasket

We clean the corners of the junction of the pallet with the cylinder block from the remnants of the sealant

Clean the joints of the front crankshaft cover

Having cleaned the remnants of the old gasket, degrease the mating surfaces.
We apply sealant to the corners of the junction of the pallet with the cylinder block from the flywheel side in front of the engine

Applying sealant to the rear of the engine

We apply sealant to the joints of the front cover of the crankshaft with the cylinder block on the side of the oil pump in the front and rear of the engine

We install the oil sump, screw in twenty bolts.
We tighten the bolts in the order shown in the figure.
Pre-tightening 8 Nm. Final tightening 14 Nm.
Four bolts securing the oil sump to the clutch housing are tightened with a torque of 27 Nm.
Oil level gauge seal replacement

Remove the oil level dipstick from the crankcase

Pry off with a screwdriver and remove the lower sealing ring

We also remove the second O-ring.
Installing new O-rings.
