To check the thermostat on the car, start a cold engine and touch the radiator inlet hose with your hand - it should be cold

After the coolant temperature reaches 80-84º C, the hose should heat up quickly, indicating the start of fluid circulation through the large circuit. If this does not happen, remove the thermostat and check its performance

Gradually heating the water, we monitor the temperature at which the thermostat valve starts to open

The thermostat is healthy under the following conditions:

- valve opening start temperature 80-84º С;

- valve full opening temperature 97º С

- valve stroke at full opening 8.0 mm

Install the thermostat and all removed parts in reverse order
