We remove the steering column for repair or replacement
We prepare the car and remove the negative terminal from the battery
Remove the steering wheel, steering column switches, ignition switch
Disconnect the steering column shaft from the steering gear and disconnect the pressure hose, as described in the article "Removing and adjusting the steering gear from the power steering"
We unscrew the nut of the upper universal joint bolt with a 13 wrench, holding the bolt from turning with a 12 wrench
Remove the bolt
Remove the steering cardan shaft
We unscrew the two bolts securing the steering column to the pedal assembly with a 14 key
We unscrew the four bolts of the steering column support to the partition of the engine compartment with a 10 head
Remove the steering column
Install the steering column in reverse order
