We prepare the car and remove the axle shaft with a hinge, as indicated in the previous article

Remove the steering knuckle from the car

Remove the lower pad of the king pin, the lever or the top pad, recording the number and location of the shims

We clamp the steering knuckle in a vice for the tie rod lever

Remove ball joint seals

We twist the M10 bolt with a thick washer into the hole of the lower kingpin

With two mounting blades, placing stops under them, we press out the lower kingpin

A washer is installed between the kingpin and the bushing of the ball joint

Through a suitable nozzle, we knock out the upper kingpin and remove the washer from the kingpin

Mark the orientation of the ball joint in the steering knuckle, remove it

We wash all parts in kerosene or diesel fuel and inspect them

Cracks, scuffs and other damage are unacceptable on parts

Before assembly, apply Litol-24 grease to the pivots and bronze bushings of the ball joint

We assemble the pivot joint, for this: putting the ball joint into the steering knuckle, lightly press both pivots into their holes so that

so that they fall into the bushings of the ball joint, and their pins coincide with the holes of the pads

By tapping with a hammer through a soft metal drift or using pads, we press the pins into the steering knuckle so that they protrude from the fist by 4-5 mm

Install shims of required thickness

Before further assembly, we put 0.5 kg of grease Litol-24 or SHRUS-4 inside the ball joint

Install the removed nodes in reverse order

Removing the front axle

Hang out the front of the car by placing stops under the frame

Remove the front wheels

Drain the oil from the gearbox/s

Disconnect the bipod link from the right knuckle arm and tie it to the spring

Disconnect the brake hoses from the brake pipes

Disconnect the cardan shaft from the bridge

Weakening the nuts of the upper shock absorbers

We install two stops (jacks) under the beam of the bridge

Unscrew the nuts of the stepladders

Remove the spring pads together with the shock absorbers back

Disassembly of the pivot connection and removal of the front axle of the UAZ vehicle

Remove the front axle from the car

Install the axle in reverse order, fill the units with oil and bleed the brake system

We finally tighten the nuts of the stepladders when the car is on wheels.
