We remove the oil separator to clean it from deposits, as well as when dismantling the cylinder head cover

Flushing and cleaning the crankcase ventilation system must be done, otherwise, if the system is clogged, the backpressure in the crankcase will drive oil through the engine seals.

For work, we need a screwdriver, torque wrench, sealant, knife.

Removing the receiver. We look at the article "Removing and installing the intake manifold of the K4M engine"

Cleaning the crankcase ventilation system of the K4M engine

With a head of 8 (Fig. 1), we unscrew the eight bolts securing the oil separator to the cylinder head cover and remove the oil separator.

Cleaning the crankcase ventilation system of the K4M engine

Before installing the oil separator, we clean and wash its cavities and channels from deposits with gasoline.

We remove the remnants of the old sealant from the mating surfaces of the oil separator and the cylinder head cover and degrease the surfaces.

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of fingerprints.

Cleaning the crankcase ventilation system of the K4M engine

We apply a special, high-temperature sealant for flange connections to the mating surface of the oil separator until the surface becomes reddish.

We install the oil separator and tighten the bolts of its fastening in the indicated sequence to the prescribed torque.

Sequence of tightening the oil separator mounting bolts (Fig. 4).

We tighten the bolts with a tightening torque of 13 - 15 Nm.

Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
